Speak Peace: A Language for Conflict
Yavapai College Verde Campus
Tuesdays: Sept 12 – Nov 14, 2017 – 6:00pm – 8:00pm
This course is geared to deepen skills for compassionate communication enthusiasts, focusing on navigating conflict, mediating difficult conversations and working with anger. We will use the process as presented by Marshall B. Rosenberg in his book Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life, 3rd edition.
Participants will use their familiarity with the NVC steps to explore the surprising purpose of anger. Then, working with a variety of examples, experiential exercises, and discussions, participants will go on to apply the steps of NVC to start resolving conflicts more easily. Prerequisite: eight hours of NVC study. Third edition books may be purchased from the instructor ($10) or from any other source of your choosing. Instructor: Rachel Garmon – 928-639-4399
